Intuitive

A geo‑located assessment tool designed for industry professionals, delivering on‑site, data‑driven terrain‑category evaluation of the prevailing wind direction in full compliance with Eurocode, using a streamlined two‑step workflow.

Increasing Safety

Developed to remove subjective judgment and support accurate, site‑specific terrain‑category classification, enabling correct ballast and anchoring in accordance with engineering requirements.

Compliant

The system is built on EN standards and uses fully Eurocode‑compliant calculations that automatically apply the correct National Annex for each supported country. This ensures that every assessment reflects local regulatory requirements without any manual adjustments, giving users reliable, site‑specific results wherever they operate.

Fast

Optimized for speed, delivering an initial load time of under 30 seconds under typical system conditions. This performance is achieved through a lightweight implementation of ndp.dk’s second‑generation architecture, ensuring fast access without compromising capability or stability.

accuracy

Manual validation across more than 500 randomly selected locations demonstrated an accuracy of at least 90%. This extensive verification process confirms the reliability of the underlying methodology and provides strong confidence in the consistency of the terrain‑category assessments.

Independent

The underlying data is sourced entirely from open datasets provided by the National Agencies of supported countries as well as from the European Union. By relying exclusively on authoritative, publicly available geospatial and environmental datasets, the system ensures transparency, traceability, and consistent quality across all supported regions.

Data driven

Each angular sector is analysed using a set of 161 elevation points to calculate the orographic factor, ensuring a detailed representation of local terrain influences. Terrain Category classification is then performed on a 50 m grid, providing a consistent and high‑resolution basis for evaluating site‑specific wind exposure conditions.

Secure & Light-weight

eventTerrain is built with privacy at its core. By design, it cannot access data on your device or retrieve personal information. The app runs without heavy installations and operates without collecting unnecessary or sensitive information, ensuring that your use of the service remains private. Your activity stays yours, and your information remains fully under your control.
